ANDREAS SUBORICS, three times German champion jockey during an illustrious riding career that saw him ride over 1,400 winners, tasted victory for the first time as a trainer in the big race of the day in Germany today, when the four year old filly FLEMISH DUCHESSE landed the Listed Preis des Gestüts Röttgen at the Hoppegarten course near Berlin this afternoon.

With his only previous German runner, San Salvador, finishing third at Düsseldorf last weekend, Austrian-born Suborics, who took over the Cologne stables from the retiring Andreas Löwe during the winter, saw the French-bred but Belgian-owned Flemish Duchesse lead from start to finish in the 27,000 Euro contest under Filip Minarik, holding off the challenge of Czech raider Partyday by a neck with another Suborics-trained runner, A Raving Beauty, a length further back in third (02/04/2017).
